Overview Itinerary

Map of Ireland DAY 1 - UNITED STATES TO IRELAND
Depart your hometown and take an overnight
flight to Ireland.

DAY 2 - ARRIVAL & TRANSFERS TO GALWAY

After customs and immigration, your CIE Tours driver/guide will welcome you. Visit the Cliffs of Moher, rising 700 feet above sea level then on to your hotel in Galway for check in.  The afternoon is free to explore Galway on your own.

Dinner & Overnight:  Forster Court Hotel, Galway.

DAY 3 - CONNEMARA & KYLEMORE ABBEY
Tour Connemara and admire the sweeping views of bog lands and misty mountains.  Stop in the quaint village of Spiddal. Continue to Clifden, a delightful town on the western seaboard.  Visit Kylemore Abbey, a 19th century neo-Gothic mansion overlooking Kylemore Lake.  On to Moycullen, stopping at the Connemara Celtic Crystal Factory to watch skilled craftsmen cutting fine crystal.  Return to your hotel.  Evening on your own.

Overnight:  Forster Court Hotel, Galway

DAY 4 - LIMERICK, ADARE & KILLARNEY
On to Limerick, strategically situated on the River Shannon. Continue through Adare which is famous for its main street of thatched houses and colorful gardens and on to the final destination for the day – Killarney, where “welcome” is genuine and warm.

Dinner & Overnight: Killarney Towers Hotel, Killarney

DAY 5 - RING OF KERRY TOUR

Today explore the Ring of Kerry – 100 miles of marvelous scenery consisting of the highest peaks in Ireland on one side and a coastline scattered with golden beaches and rocky headlands on the other.  This evening, dinner and entertainment at Kate Kearney’s Cottage Enjoy a superb meal and traditional entertainment.

Dinner & Overnight:  Killarney Towers Hotel, Killarney

DAY 6 - KINSALE
Leaving Killarney enjoy a scenic drive to Kinsale, a popular yachting center.  Check into your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day on your own.  Roam around the steep streets with brightly painted houses and flowers, shop, enjoy one of the great little cafes.
This evening, dinner together, followed by a ghost tour, which combines the best of street theatre with slapstick humor and shock horror tactics, sure to be lots of fun!

DAY 7 - KINSALE WALK & FREE TIME

Late morning, take a brief walking tour with a local guide to learn the history of Kinsale. The town traces its origins back to 1177 when the Anglo-Normans founded a town in a small walled area close to the water. The balance of the day and evening are free to explore on your own. Kinsale is dubbed “the Gourmet Capital” of Ireland and you will be able to choose from many fine places for lunch and dinner.

Overnight: Trident Hotel, Kinsale

DAY 8 - BLARNEY CASTLE & DUBLIN
Leave Cork and drive to Blarney to see Blarney Castle, and kiss the famed “Stone of Eloquence.” Visit the Blarney Woollen Mills. After hotel check in, explore some of the city on your own. This evening we’ll enjoy dinner and entertainment at the “Merry Ploughboys” pub. Enjoy a wonderful dinner, spectacular dance routines, and music and sing-alongs. A memorable way to end your wonderful trip to Ireland.

DAY 9 - RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES
Transfer to Dublin Airport to check in for your flight back home.
